SuperMap and Soluciones SIG work together to build an urban emergency management platform for Querétaro, Mexico

The Civil Defense Coordination Bureau of Querétaro City, Mexico, once faced the problem of lack of emergency response plans and resources. In order to help improve management tools and resources and respond to the city's initiative to build an intelligent urban emergency risk management system, SuperMap's Americas team teamed up with Soluciones SIG, a leading Mexican comprehensive emergency disaster solution provider and built an emergency event mobile phone reporting and smart large-screen display platform for the Querétaro City Government .

On September 27, local time in Mexico, the Municipal Civil Defense Coordination Bureau of Querétaro held a press conference for the successful implementation of the system, which was reported by many local media. Francisco Ramírez Santana, director of the Municipal Civil Defense Coordination Bureau of Querétaro, gave a detailed introduction to the platform built by SuperMap and Soluciones SIG at the conference.

The first phase of the platform was developed based on SuperMap iPortal, SuperMap’s portal platform software. It is easy to operate with comprehensive functions. Through this application, local citizens can directly report various emergency events, such as natural disasters and public safety incidents, via their mobile phones.

At the same time, relevant government departments can view and analyze reported emergency events in real-time through the large screen of the Web terminal and thus respond quickly.

In addition, the platform also provides a clear emergency handling process and timely updated response protocols. Santana commented that the platform has effectively improved the safety awareness and emergency self-rescue capabilities of citizens, creating a safer and more stable community environment for the city of Querétaro.

Director Santana also announced at the conference the future cooperation between the Municipal Civil Protection Coordination Bureau of Querétaro, SuperMap and Soluciones SIG in the field of urban emergency management.

During the project implementation, the technical team faced complex challenges in migrating services in the old system. The team tried a variety of migration methods and ultimately not only successfully completed the lossless migration of data, but also achieved seamless integration of historical data between the old and new systems, ensuring the continuity and stability of the emergency response process and laying a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the project.

In the future, the technical team will continue to build the second phase of the platform based on SuperMap iServer and SuperMap iClient. SuperMap looks forward to further enhancing its cooperation with the Mexico City Municipal Civil Defense Coordination Bureau and Soluciones SIG to provide better geographic information services to various industries in Mexico and Latin America.
